L-Menthol Acetate

Menthyl acetate is an organic compound also known as menthyl acetate.


Nature:

- Appearance: Menthol acetate is a colorless to yellowish liquid.

- Solubility: It is soluble in alcohol and ether, insoluble in water.


Application:

Colorless liquid with fresh mint, fruit, grass, and slightly cool smell. Mainly used to prepare peppermint, spearmint, fruit peach, raspberry, berry and other edible flavors.

Preparation:

Menthol acetate can be prepared by the following method:

Menthol oil reacts with acetic acid: menthol oil reacts with acetic acid under the action of appropriate catalyst to produce menthol acetate.

Esterification reaction: menthol and acetic acid are esterified under the acid catalyst to produce menthol acetate.


Safety information:

Menthyl acetate is less toxic, but should still be used with caution.

- Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes to avoid irritation or allergic reactions.

- Please keep good ventilation conditions during use.
